In the role of sustainability consultant, Lambert Sustainability is part of an innovative team working to redevelop the 1912 historic Newton Armory building into 43 new units of intergenerational permanently affordable housing with significant sustainability goals. The development will achieve Passive House Certification, include all electric systems for heating, cooling and hot water to eliminate the use of fossil fuels, install photovoltaic panels on the roof and incorporate indigenous landscaping and a public community space.

The project aligns with the 2019 Newton Climate Action Plan and goal to be carbon neutral by 2050. It will also achieve all elements of the Newton Sustainable Development Design Zoning Ordinance requirements.

The project is currently in the permitting and approvals phase.
